Returning from the Salone del Mobile 2026, we are pleased to share with friends and clients our impressions from the visit.

Let's begin with a general consideration: the context in which this edition of the fair is taking place.

The furniture sector is clearly affected by the current global economic and geopolitical situation.

In this scenario, stability and the presence of “reassuring” products prevail over strongly innovative items and radical innovations.

There are numerous re-editions of products, including projects that in some cases date back to the 1970s, demonstrating that good design is long-lasting and independent of temporary trends.

Although in Milan the fair is much larger and the stands more creative, the products on display essentially mirror what we had already seen at Workspace Paris, effectively confirming its trends.

The range of colors and materials leans toward a “Nordic” style, characterized by the predominant use of wood and autumnal tones.

Reassuring shapes and organic design remain the key trend of the moment.

Di ritorno dal Salone del Mobile 2026 condividiamo con amici e clienti le impressioni della nostra visita.

COLOUR PALETTE AT SALONE DEL MOBILE 2026

From a color perspective, there is a strong presence of brown tones across the entire product range, with various shades such as caramel and cinnamon, complemented by an orange already seen last year and a new burgundy red emerging as a fresh color trend.

Gloss finishes are also making a frequent comeback in furniture.

Pastel and neutral color palettes, combined with the Pantone color of the year, Cloud Dancer, were also presented in a more understated way and could become a trend in the coming months.

MATERIALS AND FINISHINGS

As for product types, the offering focused on the contract sector, with particular reference to hospitality and residential environments.

In terms of materials, there is a continued emphasis on soft, warm fabrics—“hairy” or textured textiles—that deliver a raw yet refined effect.

The products on display stand out for their premium finishes and a strong attention to perceived quality, much like what we observed in Paris.

ECO DESIGN

Strong attention to design for disassembly, recyclable materials, and product refurbishment as been noticed as in the last years.

Among the more innovative proposals are several interesting removable upholstery solutions, recyclable padding materials, and the use of paper and cardboard instead of plastic.

However, at present, these solutions are mainly targeted at the mid- to high-end segment.

THE SALONE DEL MOBILE

As a final note, a general consideration on the fair.

Attendance this year shows a clear positive trend compared to the previous edition, confirming that The Fair (with a capital “F”) is still enjoying a strong moment, both in Rho and across the city of Milan with the various initiatives of the Fuori Salone.

Milan continues to be a key city for trends and, above all, for the overall visitor experience.
